Financial Assistance to Manju’s family

  • The IOC chairman has handed over ~Rs. 28 lakhs to Manju’s family and given a monthly pension of Rs. 10,000/- for the next 15 years.

  • Ms. Sudha Narayanamurty has given Rs. 5 lakhs to the bereaved family from her trust
  • IOC Officers’ Association has committed, though not yet disbursed, Rs. 15 lakh to Manjunath’s family
  • Manjunath’s parents have applied for an LPG dealership in Bangalore - the matter is pending with IOC, they have not yet reverted.

  • PNB and Canara Bank have written off Manju’s education loans

  • IOC has written off Manju’s car loan
  • IOCL offered a job to Manju’s brother, which has been turned down by his parents for obvious reasons. Manju’s brother is now employed - he is an M.Tech in metallurgy. His sister is still looking for a job in embedded software. We have circulated her CV and arranged for interviews. If anyone can help let us know.
Action on the Legal Case

  • Home Minister Mr. Shivraj Patil has conveyed to parliament that the center has asked UP for full details of the murder and will follow up on this case

  • BJP MP, Mr. Anant Kumar has asked for a CBI enquiry into the case
  • IOC chairman has assured Manju’s family that IOC will pursue the case and bring the culprits to justice

In Manjunath’s memory and Recognition for his bravery

  • IOCL has recommended Manjunath for the highest Bravery Award for a civilian in the line of duty – Ashok Chakra award. The trust has sent a letter supporting the recommendation.

  • We have also nominated Manjunath for the Godfrey Philips bravery Award.
  • IOC is instituting an award in Manju’s memory for the best retail sales team in the company

Petrol Adulteration Issue

  • IOC is launching an anti-adulteration drive

  • The Prime Minister has chaired meetings on PDS repricing and is expected to announce measures to curb adulteration
